About
From the time immemorial, the Indian society has always been emphasizing on maintaining the purity of nature. Clean and healthy nature always leads to a hygienic society. But, in the present context, the tremendous development in different spheres, growth of population in large scale, inappropriate technology and consumption choice, poverty, social, economic and educational backwardness, unplanned urbanisation have become major obstacles in maintaining a clean and pure environment. The polluted environment also adversely affects human health.

So, under these circumstances, to provide a helping hand to Dibrugarh University for implementing the MOU between the Government of Assam and Dibrugarh University regarding implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission, Dr. Rohini Kanta Barua Law College Health and Sanitation Club was formed on the 18th of January, 2016. The primary objective of this club is to accomplish the vision of a ‘Clean India’ starting from Dibrugarh District and its nearby areas. In other words, this Club will assist the District Administration of Dibrugarh in implementing the steps taken by the Central Government and State Government to achieve the goal of Swachh Bharat and MANASA.

Objectives of the Club

• To create awareness on Elimination of open defection
• To provide training to the public regarding the importance of sanitation and clean environment
• To make the public aware about health and hygienic way of living and its advantages
• To make the public aware about different techniques of disposal of garbage
